Garnet

Terms of Service

Last updated June 13, 2026

These terms reflect how Garnet works today and are being finalized as the product ships; they may be updated. Questions? Email hello@garnetgrid.com.

1. Who we are

"Garnet," "we," or "us" means Garnet Grid Consulting LLC, the operator of this website and the Garnet product. By using the website, the Garnet app, or our setup service, you agree to these Terms.

2. What Garnet is

Garnet is a private AI assistant you download and run on your own computer, plus an optional "done-for-you" setup service in which we help install and configure it for you. The AI runs locally on your device; we don't operate it for you and we don't receive your conversations from the installed app.

3. Your license to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to download and use the Garnet app for your own lawful use. The app runs on your hardware and uses your computer's resources. You are responsible for your device, your data, and how you use the AI's output. The app may rely on third-party open-source models and components, which are provided under their own licenses.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Garnet or this site to do anything illegal, to harm others, or to violate others' rights, and don't attempt to disrupt or abuse the website, the on-page demo, or our infrastructure. The on-page demo is rate-limited and provided for evaluation.

5. The done-for-you setup service

If you book a setup, we'll arrange a session (typically a screen-share) to install and configure Garnet on your computer. You're responsible for having a compatible computer and the access needed to install software on it. Fees, if any, are presented before you pay and are handled by our payment processor; specifics (scheduling, refunds) are confirmed when you book.

6. No warranty

The website, the demo, the app, and the setup service are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete — use judgment and don't rely on it as professional advice. A locally-run model may be less capable than large cloud models on the hardest tasks; performance depends on your computer.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Garnet Grid Consulting LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website, the app, or the setup service. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

8. Changes & contact

We may update these Terms and will revise the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions: hello@garnetgrid.com.
